10 Dec 2010: Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel

Dark wheat beer
5.3% alc
500ml

Full-bodied, very easy to drink.  Pleasant floral characteristics and great aftertaste.  Very little bitterness...but could do with bit.

3 Dec 2010: Meantime Smoked Bock

Smoked Bock
6.0% ABV
500ml

Really nice smokey flavour.
A limited edition brew from Meantime London, 3680 bottles were made, so we just had 0.16% of the entire batch.

Unlike Arrogant Bastard, this beer has a very nice after taste, and does not make your mouth feel bitter at all.

26 Nov 2010: Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale

Ale aged with American oak wood chips
7.2% alc
12 fl. oz.

A nice balance of initial sweetness followed by a strong bitterness.

The bitterness stays long in your mouth after you've drunk the beer, so it's not very pleasant. However, the initial sip is very very nice.

19 Nov 2010: Old Speckled Hen

"English Fine Ale"
5.2% alc
355ml

The first mouthful gives a rather nice sweet-bitter taste which sort of diminishes in subsequent sips.  The aroma had a distinct metallic accent, which clashed unpleasantly with the malty base.  We drank it at rather cold temperature and the general consensus is that it would have been better served a bit warmer.

There is nothing particularly complex about the flavour of this brew. It's an easy drinking beer with low carbonation, minimal hoppiness, and a very quick finish.
